Bridges can be found in a variety of shapes, but 3 basic designs rule the day; beam, arch, and suspension. Most are built to stand up to 3 basic forces as well; their own weight, the weight of the load (Persons, cars, trucks, animals), and the environmental stresses like wind, water, earthquakes. The game of the same name (Bridge) is actually the English pronunciation of a game called Biritch, also known as Russian Whist, though it’s doubtful that anyone would drive a car across a bridge made of cards… 🙂 For more infotoons, visit my store on Etsy.
